I have the vehicle listed above a 389 2bl super hydromatic transmission. when I start the car it is fine but after about two minutes of being in gear and driving there is a whining noise that persists in all gears and in park and neutral. It seems to be coming from the back of the engine towards the transmission, but it is hard to pin point. All the fluids are filled. What could it be?

I suggest you post an audio with video recording cause unless I can hear the noise it would be hard if not impossible to diagnose.
Most smart phones have video with audio now and even the $10.00 smart phones at the dollar store.

Does the whine get louder or change with engine rpm? What does the sound do if you are driving along and shift into neutral?
One way to isolate it would be to put it in the air and disconnect the torque converter and slide it back enough to clear the flex-plate and start the engine and see if the sound is gone.
