There is a whining/screeching noise when I shift the transmission into reverse and drive?

Hello,

When I get it past 5 or 10 MPH it goes away but comes back at a stop. The sound is compared to a belt slipping i would say, but I'm pretty sure it's not a belt. Any ideas?

If it doesn't make the noise in neutral when revving the engine then it is not the belt, it sounds like you have a clogged transmission filter but to be sure can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response.

i took it to my mechanic and he tightened a few air lines, and it stopped that noise but now it shakes when i put it into reverse and drive. He thinks it's the torque converter but i called a transmission place and he does not think it's that by what i was describing. He said it could be anywhere from a bad misfire or a bad motor mount.

It drives fine, changes gear fine, no weird noises.... However, when I come to a complete stop, the idle drops to about 400-500 RPMs and the car shakes. If I move it to Neutral or Park, it goes back to a normal idle. this is as well as I can describe what's going on, I'm not a mechanic by any means haha. If you have any ideas by this description, please let me know! Thanks!
