Thermostat location

The engine getting hot then going back down to cool going back up to hot. Shutting off air condition. Where is the thermostat located?

It is on the side of the engine and the oil cooler runs through it. Make sure you drain the coolant fully. Because of the way the housing mounts and its location next to the oil cooler inlet it is easy to get coolant in the oil cooler inlet if you do not drain the hose and engine.

I would verify the coolant level and purge it of air, your symptoms sound like low coolant or an air pocket.
