I looked in the relay panel along the firewall under the hood, behind the glove box, and next to fuse box on drivers side. could not find the fuel pump relay. I've asked several mechanics, the ford dealer, salvage yard workers, looked for several hours online, looked in chilton's and haynes car repair manuals, nothing on the real location of the fuel pump relay for a 1997 oldsmobile lss. help appreciated :)

Hello,

The fuel pump relay is located in the right of the instrument panel. Here is a guide to help you test the relay once you find it from the diagrams below.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

(check the diagrams below)

Cheers

Thanks for you response. The picture shows a relay panel that is located behind the glove box. I pulled out all the large relays, but non match the pin pattern of the relay that I bought at the parts store. I double checked with the parts store, and they said it is the correct relay. The pin pattern is 3 horizontal, and one vertical. Also, the relays in photo are shorter in length.

I looked under the glove box, there are no relays on the left hand side of the panel. Only three relays on the right side. I will check to see if any are labeled 'N"

ok, I looked in the panel and found a relay in the same slot, but unmarked. I will check with the auto parts store and try to replace it.

OK, I found it. It's unmarked, and different from the one I bought in the parts
store. When I pulled it out, the car wouldn't start. I put it back in and it started. Also, I could hear the fuel pump. Hope the new one fixes the occasional hard starting. Thanks for your good help!
