Where are the freeze plugs located and how to replace them?

The freeze plugs blew out on my car. That's what my husband said. He was replacing a CV axel and when he was done and started it, it was leaking water. He has some of them in but can't figure out where the others are leaking from. He said it looks like by the transmission. Are there any back by that?

There usually is a freeze plug at the rear of the block. I don't have any images to show you, but I did find instructions on how to replace them. Also, this guide can help you pin-point the leak:
