When the car moves it jumps

Hi, I bought this car from auction. ABS and hand brake warning lights are on even when hand brake is physically off. when you put in gear D and try to accelerate, it sort of jumps and shakes two to three times and starts moving when moving fine changes gear automatically no problem. When on the traffic lights same, does not move couple of jumps and then drives okay. Is it gear box problem or ABS system? Although it does not show any engine or gear box fault on the display.
