When driven home from GM certified shop the following:

Have you confirmed the battery is good and not dead? Have you checked the main fuses under the hood in the power distribution box?

I did check the battery. I did not check the fuse box under the hood. Thank you very much. FYI, I have recommended you to around 2.5 million folks. Of course they have to click. I'm broke now, but will not always be so. Thanks again man. Jake

There is a power distribution box under the hood. I attached a pic of the fuse schematic.

You know, I just repaired an Impala. I had power but couldn't remove the key because the park lock solenoid was bad and wouldn't let me remove it. Is that what is happening? Are you able to shift from park?

Gentlemen, this idiot was slapped 'upside' the head hard with this one. Now, I'm the first to admit that anything having to do with wrenches, nuts, bolts, electricity, oh especially electricity,....put it this way, if it has more than two moving parts that would be my girlfriend. But check this one out! When mom got home from church I told her it would not be difficult, even for me, to partially remove the back seat and get the items she had purchased on her way back from the Certified GM repair shop. I pulled the seat a few inches and BAMB!, lights, action, the green flag dropped! Aparently one of the six billion and eleven safety features on even a midsize car of today was not as it should be. Turns out the seat belt on the passenger side, back seat was, for some reason, in the trunk an inch or two and the Cruize did not like that at all. Mom, age 80; remembered when getting a few things from the back seat she did not like the way that belt looked. Her fungshway was all over the place and naturally that had to be dealt with.
