Three wheels were spinning one way, the fourth was spinning the opposite direction, what would cause this?

Three days ago, my husband was driving my vehicle listed above, three wheels were spinning one way, the fourth was spinning the opposite direction and now that rim is messed up and broken. What would cause the fourth to spin opposite the other three wheels? How does he fix it?
