Wheel fell off

We had our water pump and timing chain replaced on our car. Within days there was a vibration in the front end and the front passenger wheel fell off. The wheel came off because the lugs were loose. Would there be any reason the mechanic removed this tire to access the timing chain and water pump?

Yes, sometimes we have to take off the tire to access the timing cover through the wheel well. The problem comes when the Tech does not tighten the lugs back on to specifications.

Yes, they had to remove that wheel to access the timing chain. They are totally responsible for any damage caused.
