How to tell which axle is going bad?

Hi,
In most cases, you can tell if a CV axle is going bad by turning the steering sharply in one direction and then gently accelerating. The bad joint will click most times. If you are unable to identify the side from in the vehicle, have a helper stand outside while you do this to determine what side it's coming from. Also, another sign is by inspecting the rubber CV boot. Often times they tear and leak the grease from the joint causing it to fail.
