I needed to replace my passenger rear wheel bearing hub assembly along with some axel parts. The shop showed me the parts from their written quote. I asked if they allowed bringing in their own parts and they said yes. I asked if the part numbers on the quote were exactly what I was needing, and they confirmed. Once they replaced everything my ABS and traction light came on along with a notice stating, "hill start not available" (or something like that".... after 2 trips back to look at with failed diagnostic attempts he stated that it was because I bought the assembly with assist when it should have been without (even though that's the info the quote had, but anyways) does that issue have anything to do with the sensor of the wheel bearing reading/giving out the "assist"... like could I just by a new sensor for it and replace only that?

It sounds like you have a defective bearing hub, or they did not plug the sensor in which is part of the hub. When the ABS system is not working you will not have the hill start function. Can I ask which brand the part is? You should be able to do an ABS brake system scan to confirm the problem.

Here is how the job should be done correctly. FYI, shops don't like it when you bring your own parts in even though they say it is okay. They like to be able to complete the job fully without these kinds of problems. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes.

I will get that information on the brand I got later when I get home. But why when ordering the part would it ask if "with" or "without" active park assist? That's what made me think I bought the wrong one and why this issue is.

Yep, there are two different ones.

Hub and Bearing Assembly
1 - With Automated Parking BV6Z1104C - $124.92
1 - Without Automated Parking BV6Z1104B - $238.18

Which one did you get?

I got from AutoZone the Duralast bearing dl590454. which I now know is with the park assist while my car actually does not have, and I should have got different. But I'm wondering if I just replace the sensor it would be okay.

It sounds like you got a defective part. The sensor can be removed separately you might should be okay to swap the sensor out.
