Anyone know what size the wheel bearing nut is in Standard and Metric?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.
I just replaced one of these a week ago. If I recall, it was 36mm. That works out to roughly 1 7/16"

You can, but a socket and torque wrench are needed because you need to torque it to the manufacturer's specs.
There are two style nuts that can be used. Tighten the old style nut (picture 1) to 385 Nm (284 ft. lbs.). Tighten the new style nut (picture 2) to 235 Nm (173 ft. lbs.).

What if you do no have a torque wrench what can you use?
