I have the car listed above police edition. I replaced the mass airflow sensor in August 2022 well in July 2023 the mass airflow sensor went bad. I got it replaced about a week ago. I put in the new one and now a week later it’s reading code P102 mass airflow sensor, low circuit, I've checked all the connections. They are good. My car is running a little bit rough, and she is eating a lot of gas. What should I be looking for and why would the mass airflow sensor go bad within a week?

Hi,

Did you use the same brand sensor the second time? Interestingly, I have been seeing so many faulty "new" parts. Some don't work right out of the box.

As far as the problem is concerned, it could be a few different things. You indicated the connectors are in good condition, but that may be different at the PCM or in route between the sensor and PCM.

I attached the diagnostics below specific to this vehicle and code. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Take care,

Joe
