Transmissions compatibility/swap

I want to lead by saying that anything is possible.

However, I would not attempt this on this vehicle. The only reason is you are going to be into it for far more money than it is worth. Even if you get it mounted then you are going to have to change the shifter as well and find an adapter housing so that you can bolt it to the engine.

If it were me, I would suggest just replacing the transmission because these are available for less than $500.00.

If you want a 6-speed transmission, then it would be better to just buy one of those vehicles that has a 6-speed transmission.

The best option you will have is to replace this with the exact same transmission from the same year/range.
If you were to change the transmission to a different one, it would likely not fit and would have to do modification. It will also require different CV axles as well as other components.
Also, it might not mount up with the engine properly.

So, it all depends on exactly what you want to accomplish.
