What tool do I need to replace the starter?

As far as replacing the starter, you will need to support the engine and remove the front engine mount insulator. I attached directions below for removal and replacement of the starter. As far as tools are concerned, you will need the basics, screwdriver, sockets, wrenches. However, a floor jack can be used to support the engine. Just place something between the jack and the oil pan to prevent damage.

Before you replace the starter, have you checked to make sure the fuse and starter relay are both good? Both are located in the under-hood power distribution box.

Check the fuse first. Make sure there is power to and from it.

If the fuse is good and you have power to and from it, then switch the starter relay with a different one having the same part number to see if that makes a difference. One other thought is to see if it will start if you have the transmission in neutral rather than park. Try that as well.

Note, if you decide to remove the starter, make sure the battery is disconnected. If there is an auxiliary battery, disconnect it first (neg terminal, and then disconnect the negative on the primary battery).
