I need to replace the inner tie rods on this vehicle. I just bought a Harbor Freight tie rod tool kit to remove the inner tie rods. What adaptor size do I need to use? Here is the tool I got:

Yep, the kit has the sizes needed I believe it is 21mm. Here are instructions for how to change the inner tie rod end out in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Ken, this isn’t how I seen it done on most cars when people done it in the shops I worked at. On most cars they usually just remove the inner tie rod with an impact gun using the long extension bar with the correct adaptor end and then install the new inner rod with the impact and so on again with the tool to torque it by hand then. I have never seen one installed with those tools in the illustrations and never used a feeler gauge on inner tie rods. I am not sure if the tie rod tool was around when these cars came out so that must be an older illustration.

Is how I explained it a good procedure how to remove the inner tie rod? I think the factory sometimes does not word info to make sense. I had to keep re-reading it a couple times to understand it. I like to tweak factory info to make it more understanding for me from what I have saw from hands on experience.
