Loss of power, loud, rough idle and catalytic converter is glowing red

All of a sudden got really loud and sounds kind of like a diesel. Loss of acceleration power, sputters, rough idle. Catalytic converter glowing red.

Hello,

This definitely sounds to me like it is a plugged catalytic converter. Sometimes the "honeycomb" inside the catalytic converter, really it is the catalyst, breaks a piece off. This will plug the catalytic converter and cause overheating and a lack of power because the hot exhaust gas now has nowhere to go. The lack of power is due to your engine being choked out on the trapped exhaust gas. I have included some links down below.
