Hi,

That is the PCV valve hose. Chances are it was brittle from heat and broke easily.

The vehicle will not run properly with that broken. It creates a large vacuum leak. It will idle rough or not at all.

So, on the engine side where it broke, is there any hose left?

I attached a pic below of what I believe it is. I need confirmation of the engine size. It is a 3.1L V6?

Let me know. Also, does the pic I attached below appear to be the same part?

I will watch for your reply.

Take care,

joe

Yes, that is the piece, so it's the pc valve hose, is this easy to fix myself? I looked for the part online and what I found has bad reviews of people saying it lasts a month and then melts off and has to get replaced again. So, should I try and find one at the junkyard off another Buick or any suggestions? And yes, it's a 3.1.

Hi,

I wouldn't get a used one. They become very brittle. I'm not sure which you have looked at, but I found a factory OEM one, new, for under 7 dollars on Amazon.

I attached a pic below. Go to Amazon and look up the part. That is the one I would get. It appeared to have good reviews.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care and Happy Easter,

Joe

Hi,

At this point, I would find a universal engine coolant that can be used with all types of coolant. There is still coolant in the system, so we don't want to mix Dexcool with anything other than a universal coolant that can mix with Dexcool. I'm not sure what was used before. I'm not familiar with a blue coolant. Are you sure you're not looking at the windshield washer fluid? LOL

Let me know.

Lol, no, I was not looking at the washer fluid, I flushed all the blue coolant out and used a universal yellow and I bled it, heats working great now my question is do you know what this is leaking from under the car? Looks like oil. If you have any ideas if greatly appreciate it.

Hi,

That looks like oil mixed with coolant. Do you have oil leaking as well? Also, there are no coolant leaks, correct?

I have a favor to ask. I need you to start a new post specific to the new issue. We try to keep the links specific to one topic, so they are more helpful to others. I hope you understand. Here is the link to start a new post. Just copy and paste your new questions and pic and I will watch for it.

Again, I hope you understand. As mentioned, I will watch for the new post.
