Shut off while driving

I forgot when driving it would act like it wasn't getting enough gas so I would push to give gas. at that time had half a tank but at times going up hill it did this too. However, this last time I was driving up a little hill and did a u turn and it shut off but started back up. last time I started it it acted like it wasn't getting gas. i haven't driven it since because I'm scared that I'll be driving and it will do it again.

Hi,

Based on your description, it sounds like you are on the right track. It sounds like you have a weak fuel pump. What needs to be done is to check fuel pressure. Here is a link that explains how in general pressure is tested. You will need a fuel pressure gauge. I realize that isn't something most people have, but oftentimes, a parts store will lend one to you.
