The engine runs fine. At first it was making a lot of noises and the car would jerk around. However, now it runs fine. But, when I put it in drive or reverse, the car will not move.

You need a live person to look underneath. Please also list the engine size and transmission type. You did not say where the noise is coming from, what it sounds like, or what the moving around felt like. As a guess, I would start by looking at the two front half shafts. If a joint broke, neither front wheel will turn under power. To check for this, shift to "park", then try to push the car forward and backward. If it will move, something allowed one of the half shafts to come apart.

It is a automatic front wheel drive, four cylinder. The noise seem to have been coming from the driver side front wheel.

I think you should check transmission fluid levels. Because excessive transmission leaks or detached fluid lines can quickly empty your transmission of critical fluids. And without fluid, your transmission will become seriously damaged.
