After replacing the fuel pump engine hesitates

Fuel pump went bad, put new fuel pump in, car fired right up. But now when you rev engine it has a serious hesitation and acts like it has a rev limiter or cut off. tachometer bounces and just cuts in and out , Could a Mass Air sensor cause all that?

Is the check engine light on after this issue started? The first thing that needs to be done is to perform a code check to determine the check engine light codes that are stored in your vehicles computer that is causing this issue. Codes were scanned, it did show Mas air was bad, but never seen one act like a rev limiter before.
