This car is the hatchback 1.4 Zetec. how can I tell if my water pump is run off belt or the fan? could you help please?

Hey LIVKOP78,
If the engine is signal overhead cam then it is run from the timing belt, if it is dual overhead cam it is run from the serpentine belt. Here are two images to help you see.
