Washer wiper problem

Hi Steve my name is Terry, my washers wipers won't work at all, there is no noise coming through whatsoever. wipers are working perfectly fine. any idea? thanks

Hello,

There is not much in that ckt. I would start with making sure your washer pump fuse is good.

The description sounds like either the washer motor or switch has an issue. Testing the circuit isn't difficult, the motor is mounted to the washer bottle and has two wires, black goes to ground and green is the power feed. If you apply battery voltage to the two connections on the wiper motor and it spins fine then you need to check for power and ground at the connector. To do that a simple test light connected to a ground and touched to the green wire should light up when you use the washer switch. If it does then the switch and power are good. Now connect the test light to the battery positive and then touch the black wires pin in the connector. If the ground is good it should light. No light would be a bad ground. Those can be as easy as the wire broke or rust at the screw that secures it.
