Check engine, Pre-collision braking system, Lane departure warning, and X mode warning lights turned on while driving in the rain?

Like you, that doesn't make sense to me either. When this happens, does the engine temperature slowly start to go up? Is there any power loss?

Is the scan tool you are using able to read codes from all modules (CAN)?

Let me know. Also, I would contact a dealership because it should be covered under a 3-year/36K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Let them know the code that you had. If this happens again, don't delete the code until the dealership can inspect it.

Also, all of the lights you mentioned seem related. The X mode, however, is related to the 4wd system. This is why I recommend having it checked.

Let me know if your scanner is designed to read all codes.

My scanner is not a CAN. I reset the lights by just removing the battery cable as my scanner doesn’t have a function to do it. If I take it to the dealer, will they be able to pull any codes since I disconnected the battery to put the lights out? I would like to take your recommendation to have the dealer check it out but if the codes are gone it seems like it would be a waste of time (and money).

Hi,

If you disconnected the battery, chances are the code isn't present. However, I would recommend contacting a dealership and letting them know the problem existed and you would like it checked when it turns back on. That way they are aware of the issue before the warranty expires.

Since the battery was disconnected, the different monitors need to reset. I suspect when you get to the monitor of the affected parts, the light will turn back on. The only thing you can do to reset the monitors is drive it.
