My car does not have any cord and it seems to be driving okay. but when i plug in obd2 scanner I get VVT monitor bank 1 fail on test results. What could this mean? Is this something that needs to be addressed?

Hello,

This is usually due to the engine oil being low or the engine oil being dirty and needs to be changed. I would start by checking the oil level and if dirty. here is a guide to help you change the oil out step by step with instructions for your car in the images below.

Hello, thank you for your advice. I know the oil level is not low, it's not leaking nor burning, the oil level is constant, and it has been less than 2,000 miles since i changed oil. Do you have any other possible suspects? occasionally i get some feeling that car gets slightly less responsive but nothing significant.

I would remove the camshaft oil control valve or CVVT oil control valve and check the oil screen for debris or little metal pieces, if this screen is clogged it will not allow oil flow and therefore not actuate the camshaft. Here is the location, let me know what happens. Check out the images (below).

This is the next part in the trouble tree for the problem you are having, but I must say I have seen the camshaft actuator itself go out and cause this problem as well.

Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor:

I would swap it out and if this doesn't fix it the engine will need to come apart and a new timing chain set/guides tensioner and camshaft actuators will need to be replaced. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
