I took my car into a national brake repair franchise to get an estimate on replacing the pads and turning the rotors on the rear wheels. I was told by the manager that on my particular car the rotors had to be replaced. Was he correct?

Thanks

Volvo does not recommend resurfacing rotors as it can lead to brake squeek, improper pad wear and vibrations. Volvo has two min. replacement specs. One replacement spec is a recommended min thickness with brake pad replacement. And the other is the actual min. specs the rotors can be at. Volvo does this because if the rotors reach a certain specs when replacing the pads, the rotors can fall below specs before the next pad replacement.
