2001 Volvo XC70 How to safely remove mirror/window controls

I have a cracked joystick that is used to control the position of the mirrors.

It will be easy to fix, if I can get at it.

How do you get the plate off that contains this switch?

I don't want to pry at things, as this can easily break things!

You will need to remove the door panel. Once you do you will need to push the switch controller through the bottom. Once you hae it out you need to gently pry apart the cover to replace the joystick. Good luck.
