I've been having inconsistent starting issues for about a year and a half, and after 3 visits to Volvo dealers, still no solution. The car will start and as it is about to hit idle, it dies. I try again and it just cranks. Try it again a few minutes later, and often it will start without any problems (recently, however, it has been taking about 4-5 of these attempts). I've had new software installed, a general clean-out of the ECM, plug check etc., but yet nothing that has fixed it. It feels like more of a mechanical than electronic issue, but what do I know. Any thoughts?

Hi elkirb,

I would suggest checking for any vacumn leaks between MAF and intake manifold.
