1999 Volvo XC70

WHAT WAS THE REASON FOR THE DIAGNOSIS? IS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON? IS THE ETS LIGHT ON? IS THERE IS A RUNNING CONDITION?

I realized the check engine light was not coming on when I put the key into the ignition. also, i wanted to have it check out to see if there where any problems that I need to correct before I had it inspected in case it failed. Seems that I only get 10 day deadline to correct the problems before it would need to be inspected again.

Either way, the conclusion that i have come to is: the code, p1633: "computer output control" would be making the check engine light to come on. Seems it's not illuminating i suspect foul play. meening the dealer knew there was a problem and rather than fix it he decided to make it so the check engine light wouldn't come on. Long story short I'm going to pay the $90. To have it diagnosed by a volvo dealer so i can get a detailed read out of the codes.

PO650 is for check engine light signal missing which explains the light not coming on, PO1633 indicates that the vehicle speed signal is missing and fault tracing will tell you to check for trouble codes in the brake control module. Usually if the wheel speed sensors are good and the speed updates while turning the wheels, then the most likely problem will be the brake control module. PO1171 is for a long term fuel trim problem. I just do not know if this is for running too rich or running too lean. Usually when you scan it the fault would come up as PO1171 long term fuel trim running too lean on the scanner? So diagnosis may be more then just $90. There is one hour diagnosis for PO650 which they are going to need to pull the cluster out, another hour to diagnose PO1633 since fault tracing will result in diagnosing the ABS system, and another hour for PO1171 which is emissions related and can be anything from a vacuum leak to a faulty mass air flow sensor?
