can anything be retrofitted to have the horn chirp (as the lights do already) using the remote key? If so, what is the procedure?

You cannot make the horn change it sound tone unless you have electronic horns.
There are after market beepers used for auto alarms and you can attach them to the alarm control unit wires to the lights with the aid of diodes to prevent them from chirping when the lights are turned on.
