I have a new V70, I use the the child lock on the rear near side door. With the locks set to close all door when pulling away. When the ignition is off only the near side rear door will not allow you to open it from the outside.
My concern is that if the vehicle caught fire our natural reaction would be to stop the vehicle get out run around to release the door find that you cant untill you have released it electronically from the door module inthe drivers door. so you run all the way back unlock the door and then go back to release th child at which time they could be a crisp. I understand that if there was an impact accident the srs would unlock all doors but a fire is not an impact so the door would stay locked.
Volvo service say thats how it is. Surely this can not be safe can it be overridden on the computor?
Thank you
