My rear drivers side seat belt is stuck in the clip. I've been driving it this way for about 6 months and when it went in today for my 75,000 mile service, they told me it was out of warranty by 2 weeks and would cost $700 to replace. Is there some way to safely open up that belt clip receiver end to get it out and clean it out?

Do you mean the seat belt latch has jammed? You can most likely replace it yourself. Break open the latch to remove the seat belt and replace the latch.

Yes the latch has jammed. Can I just buy the latch from my Volvo dealership parts department and if so, where can I find a good set of instructions how to remove the rear seat? Do they still make "chilton" books and would they have that type of info in them? I would ideally like to fix myself or have my husband fix but we don't know how to remove the seat. I would imagine once you get the seat out it is pretty self explanatory....

Towards the backrest on the bottom bench you will see a strap. Pull the strap and that will get the bench to fold down. The side cusion just pops out and you should have access to the latch. And yes you can buy just the latch from the parts department. If you still need more info let me know an I can it for you. Good luck to you.
