2002 Volvo V40 4 cyl

The low beam light on the drivers side doesn't work. All of the rest of the lights work to include the blinkers, and high beam lights on both sides. I check the fuses and changed the switch. I was told I needed a CEM. What does it do and is there any way to check for a bad wire since the low beams are the only things affected. I've looked online everywhere for the part and can't find it. HELP!!!

The CEM is short for "Central Electronic Module". Now for your low beam not working, I take it they have checked for power going to the socket and none was present? You can check for continuity from the socket to the CEM but you will need the wiring diagram. If you have good continuity and is less then 1 ohm then your module could have an internal open. You may want to look online for a company that actually repairs modules. You would need to remove it and send it out to them leaving you without a car for a few days or couple of weeks depending on where you send it out?
