My car drives normally, and in the middle of the road (also after being turned off) the engine just stops. Then, it won't start. The lights come on when I turn the key, but the engine doesn't even make a sound. Then, if I am lucky, the car starts normally after a few minutes. If I am not lucky, it doesn't start at all. It is a 1998 Volvo S70, with 60000 miles on it. I've been to the mechanic and they have no clue. It also has a brand new Bosch battery.

Thanks for any help!

Do you have to play around with the keys a few times on and off to get it to start-if so try checking the ignition switch, NSS/TRS, starter relay and starter itself.

Even if I play around with the switches/keys it still doesn't start. Nothing helps really.

Thanks

Do you mean it cranks over and refuses to start or won't crank over at all.

It doesn't crank over at all. No sound.

Thank you. I'll try, and see if the car starts. I appreciate it!

Now the car cranks over, but it can't start, as if there is no gas. Any suggestions?

Spray carb cleaner into the throttle body and see whether it'll fire up.
