I'm the owner of a 1998 volvo s40 it has the 2l engine and manual transmission. the car have over time (from 200 000km-250 000km) become harder to get in to revers. I have tried to adjust the pole from the shifter to the transmission box. and it gets better but not good, when I adjust it so the revers is perfekt, then I'm unabel to get it in to my 5th gear. and visa versa. how can i make the car easy to shift into revers but also be abel to easy shift it into 5th gear. is this a shifter problem? or a transmission problem?
