2006 Volvo S40 60000 miles

i took my s40 to auto mechanic and he replaced the pads and rotors in the rear. Now there is constant rattling. Then took it to another mechanic he said they are not factory pads but they say volvo. what is the problem

Hard to say without looking at it but I believe if the pads are wrong the noise you hear is from the inner pads. The inner pads have a butterfly clip that pushes up agains the caliper. If that is missing then your inner pads will be bouncing around. Make sure you have the correct pads on there.
