I was told by a neighbor to spray clean the TPS and it did helped, but the idle still drops completly to a shut-off when I come to a stop. What else can I do. I don't want to start replacing parts unless it's absolutly needed, I am on a real thight budgett.

Just before it dies, does it seem like it idles a little rough just before dying? Or does it just die without warning when you come to a stop? Also how often is this happening? Do you have a check engine light on as well?

the car does go into a rough idle giving me the chance to shift to neutral and step on the gas pedal to prevent it from shutting off. Once under control I shift back to "Drive" and while I'm moving it does not reflect any problem.

Is it possible for you to have it scanned and let me know what the code is? Your problem could be related but not sure until I know what the code is?

I'm sorry for the long time in answering, but I had a hard time in finding a way to obtain a code reading, but here it si finally code #00301 and I think the man said something having to do with a misfire in one of the cylinders. I hope this helps. Thanks

Does the check engine light flash under load or feels like it runs rough? Does it start up rough when sitting over night? Do you see any white smoke when you first start up? If no it could be related to your low idle and stalling out that set the code. If that is the case then the idle air control valve could be failling and maybe trying to clean out the carbon out the valve could help. If not then you will need to replace the idle air control valve. When removing the idle air conrol valve, be carefull not to damage the gasket. Also clean out the throttle body as well. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your professional advice, I clean the recomended parts and it did help some what, but not enough to eliminate the problem I guess I wiil proceed to replaced them for aftermarket parts.I will replace them one at a time to do a procces of elimination. Once again thank you very much.

hi man sorry i`m not an expert but i use to have the same problem with automatic car..before it use to do only when engine was cold than as the matter of fact i did`nt give attention on it..than started doing it all the time..what ever the problem was engine didn`t have good tune( enough tune) I thing your car is not geting enough gas it self...i mean it must be able to run it`s own with slow speed without touching the gas.. pull the gas wire (under the bonet) and adjust it it will slove the problem all the best...
