2001 Volvo S40 Chirping noise as the wheels accelerate

I just got a new transmission and two new front tires and a reallignment. Now the car makes an incessant chirping noise that increases with the speed of the car and gets worse when I brake. I took the car back to the garage, and they said it was a loose heat shield. But of course, that did not fix the noise at all. Please let me know if you have advice. The brakes do not need to be changed; I had checked that prior to the transmission work. The chirping sounds like the noise a cricket makes and can be heard best when ricocheting off a tunnel wall or driving past other cars. I will not take the car back to the people who fixed the transmission. as they are clueless do not want to help.

Make sure the brake sensor isn't bent and touching the rotor. Also, I need you to check the backing plate behind the rotor to make sure it wasn't bent or has rust touching the rotor as it turns.

If everything checks out ok on the things Joe has you check you should remove the brake pads and clean the caliper brackets and lube the contact points on the brake pads and lube the backing plate of the pads as well. Due to your latteral run out on the rotors the wobble causes the brake pads to wiggle back and forth and the metal friction on the contact points of the pad and bracket causes that chirping sound you are hearing.
