Shakes or Wobbles problem
2000 Volvo S40 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 123000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
a friend of mine drove over a large rock (don't laugh) and bent the rear crossmember on the driver's side of my car, a couple of months ago. Since then...I have noticed a rubbing/scraping noise and sometimes it feels a bit wobbley. I know what's wrong obviously but...I am due for inspection. How much, approximately, would this cost to repair? Will this prevent my car from passing inspection? I plan on getting it fixed but don't know if, financially, I'll be able to do it right now. What are the long term damage possibilities if this goes much longer and what are the safety concerns? (i.e. do I need to worry about my tire flying off?) I was told that it could mess with my alignment and tire wear. Basically I need to know what is CRUCIAL to repair now and what can I hold off on.
Thank you,
Alisa
