Hi,
I have a 1993 Volvo 940. The engine runs terrific, however, when I am driving in cold weather the temperature gauge begins to drop. It shows the car is running extremely cold. I have checked the anti-freeze and it shows that it is full. When the car is idiling, the temperature guage is in the middle, where it should be. Can you please let me know what this could be.

Yours Truly

I would check the engine coolant temperature sensor and your thermostat, it may need both.
