1996 Volvo 850 Front Wheel Drive Manual 180k miles

Today I was being an idiot tried to shift into 5th gear without using the clutch. There was a grinding sound, and now when i shift to 5th it will not engage. when I lift the clutch up the shifter pops out of 5th gear.

well what you did is you grinded up 5th gear so what you are going to have to is get a new flywheel or clutch plate because shifting from 4th to 5th is at high speed so thats the problem cause i have a 5 speed volvo also and mine engages into 5th no problem so i am happy to help you out as much as i could if you have any more question about your volvo feel free to email me at [email protected]
