I recently bought this car. Two days ago is started running hot. In 12 hours I put in 2 gal of coolant. My shop say it is a headgasket issue. The previous owner's records show that it was replaced a little over 2 yrs ago. Does this seem right? Also, what is a ballpark tota for this type of repair.

if you notice that the coolant is reduced when you have leaks in the system that causes tempetaturen rising and it does not mean the head gasket only, but it can leak somewhere else in the system. otherwise it could be the thermostat is faulty or the fan, check the fan if it is Fuger check engine temp sensor. waiting for your reply .....
