Voltage regulator location

Cannot find the voltage regulator under the hood.

Depends on which engine and which alternator you have. It could be built into the alternator or it could be their common two-wire regulator that is bolted to the firewall. The one on the firewall has a three-terminal triangular plug, but with only two wires in it. Throughout the 1970's those were dark blue and dark green wires. Not sure if they kept those colors on an 1984 model.

It should look like this and be bolted to the firewall just toward the passenger side of the truck.
