does heat cause the voltage to drop. i am asking this question because my car has a p0882 code? it does that only when the outside temperature is up. aka summer time.

Heat can effect when codes set if components have to reach a certain temperature before they fail when they go bad then yes. I just looked up that code it asks if there are any TIPM codes? That is the computer fuse box under hood. That would take a professional scan tool that can read all the computers in your car not just the engine and transmission like the diy'er scan tool code readers. That is the first step on the trouble tree. Those TIPM have a high failure rate.

On this one it is best to know what codes all the computers in the car have. Also it might take a professional scan tool to help diagnose the problem. The way it is going a lot of the time a professional scan tool is need to see what codes all the computers have.Plus it is needed to help diagnose the problem. Which it was not so would have saved a lot of money when I had to buy my professional scan tool.

I took my car to a mechanic the beginning of this year. he said the car needs a computer. i did not have money at that time. so last month i bought a manufactured computer from autozone and installed it. it was running fine no code until few days ago the weather was hot 95 degrees and up the check engine light came back. last year before i replaced the pcm the car goes on limp on mode when only the weather is hot.now the codes stored in pcm are p0700, p0882, p0633, p0513.

Hey ZEMORZEMOR,

It sounds like the TCM is bad, I have read on other forums that this is a common problem with the make and model of your car.

Let me know what you find so you can help others

Best, Ken

It sounds like it is bad again, sorry. Check all system grounds by performing a pin to pin check on all computer wiring systems, check for high ohms or open circuits.

Today my girlfriend was driving when the car jerked ( i guess it shifted down) because the rpm went up to 3500. so she pulled over and left the car at gas station. when i came back from work i hooked up the scanner actron plus. the codes are p0882 tcm power input low, p0562 system low voltage, p0633 key not programmed ( i replaced the pcm ).p0700. when i started the car and did a drive test i was shifting right

this issue come only when the ambient temperature is hot 95 today and when i drive the car for long period

today i drove the car without ac on . the weather was hot.the check engine went off however those codes are still stored. so if the check engine light went off is that means that there is no low system voltage anymore?

You could have a intrrmittently
Failing alternator or a bad junction box under the hood feeding low voltage intermittently.so does the car ever die when it acts up?

no the car never dies.before to start the car i had to push slightly on the ignition switch while turning the key to the run position i do not know if it related to the problem.

Sounds like the ignition switch is failing that could cause voltage loss .

That's the tipim fuse box under the hood I have seen them go bad and cause all kinds of problems.it's a fuse box with a computer. They can be intermittent and hard to diagnose.Try clearing the codes then while it's running push on the relays and different parts of the tipim fuse box and see if the codes come back.

today i took off the tipm from his mounting bracket and wiggled the connectors, a p0882 code shows up . the problem was the yellow with brown strip wire coming from the pcm had bad connection at the tipm connector. i think p0882 code is fixed i cleared the codes and i did not see code p0562 yet.

Thank you so much for your help

What happens is the large wires run a lot of current thru them wwith a lot of heat.So they open the terminal connection over time.Glad to hear you got it fixed that's what we're here for.

today the p0882 code came back. i removed again the tipm and wiggled the wire that i fixed last time coming from the pcm to the tipm no code (p0882). i did the test when the ignition was in run position engine off i did not see code in the obd2 code reader.after that i said ok lets wiggle the computer connectors. when i did that strange things happend the obd reader did not want to communicate with the pcm , the anti theft security light was flashing and squares arround the PRND symbols in the dash.

is it normal ? or i have problem with the pcm connectors

Sounds like the wires the terminal tightness at the end of the connector opening or the tipm itself My best guess would be a open terminal end on one of the large main power feed wires.

i wiggled the pcm connectors. I had to disconnect the battery to let the strange events dissapear
how can i check for an open wire at the pcm connector ?
could it be a loose connector also?

You unhook the connectors and look at the Opening's and see if any of them look different then the others.Take pictures and post them.

i did not take pictures because i did not want to generate more problems. but if the issue comes back i will take pictures and post them. i will wait few day and see

thank you so much
