I have a volkswagen rabbit that wont start after it has been sitting for about 45 min. Any time I start it I have to turn the ignition on a few times to get fuel up to the engine, but when it sits for 45 min. or so, it doesnt always start even then. When sitting for shorter periods of time, or overnight, the ignition on and off gets it to start. Is there a fuel pressure regulator that could be leaking?

it sounds like you have an ignition switch problem, considering you are telling me "I have to turn the ignition on a few times to get fuel up to the engine" or you have a bad fuel pump, or a plugged up fuel filter, I don't believe it's the fuel regulator, because on start up it is a full pressure ( when it has no vacuum) once the vehicle is started and vacuum reaches the fuel pressure regulator, then it starts to set the accurate pressure, according to the vacuum of the engine.
