We live in Alaska and we bought this car about a month ago. I noticed the other day that there was some oil in the garage. Today that spill turned into a massive "lake" of oil and the car's oil light came on and said there was no oil in the car. I know I have a big problem, but I would like to know what could be causing this so I can go into the machanics a little prepared.

Usually if it leaks that much overnight the problem is low on the engine like a drain plug or possible pan gasket. Some VW's have an aluminum oil pan that is hanging down in harms way, I have replaced a few for cracks from hitting things
