Hello,
I have a 2001 Passat. The A/C works when it wants to. Mostly not. But when it works, it blows cold.
The heater does not work at all. It doesn't work for defrost, nor any other position. It just blows ambient air.
I would like to donate, but every website asks for $, and I usually get nothing. I will be glad to donate to a technician that helps me actually solve this problem.
Thanks,

Hi kmm4951,

Let us get a few things straight to understand the problem first.

When AC does not blow cold,
1. Does it happen immediately upon turning it ON
2. Is the engine operating temperature normal?
3. Is the ambient temp sensor connected?
4. Did you check if the compressor clutch is locking?
5. Do you have overheating issues with the engine?
6. Fans in good working order?

Is your AC system manual or auto?
