My passenger side window fell off trackone day and I pulled the door panel off to check it out. Ordered a new regulator and set up appointment to have it installed. A few days later my Passat wouldn't start. No reason, no power to anything. The mechanic jumped the ignition switch directly to the starter. I have lights, dashboard, radio, turn signals, but nothing else. No alarm, no Power Windows, no Trunk Unlock. The mechanic removed the #3 relay, which I assume was bad and the reason for no power. I don't know if it was required to do this to jump the starter/ignition. I tried to order a new relay and everyone seems to be on back order. I am suffering from VDub-itis. Please help. Is it the Power Accessory Relay? I have heard about a phenomina about the window problems causing more problems with the alarm/elecrical system. Help!!

If they are on back ordere it should tell you something...... there is a problem with them. Not sure of teh exact name , but sounds like the VW tech knew what to do to get around it, I would order one and wait, doesnt sound like you have much choice
