my car makes a clicking sound when i am driving. through all the gears, but it dissapears when i push the clutch in. what could this be?

Hi there,
This could be a faulty finger on the clutch pressure plate or a bad thrust bearing, both will be loaded up with the clutch pedal down so often any noise here will go away at this time, a mechanic can often diagnoses this with a drive as pedal vibration and a feel can often be picked up as well.

so it's not the transmission?

That's where its hard to say with out a road test, it could be a transmission fault, but i feel it is in the clutch, a road test by a mechanic is the next step to be sure.
