I have an 01 vw jetta, 82140 miles, and has a 2.0L engine. My car seems to think that my driver's side door is open. This happened about a year ago when the light on my door came on and never turned off. I had to pull the bulb from the light to get it to shut off. My key fob still works when I unlock the car but it will no longer lock the doors. This is also a problem because I don't think the alarm gets set. I have adjusted the striker and latch on the door and changed out the comfort control module but it hasn't fixed the problem. I am also haveing a problem with my temp gauge. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I will be driving and it will be working fine but then it drops down to 0. Any info on these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Hello !!

To start you should find the Door "Pin Switch" which "tells" the light that the door its open.

That`s why the alarm "thinks" the door is open and won`t lock it

(to prevent arm the car with a door open)

once found it check it if bad replace it..
and the temp. gauge could be a loose wire or connection at the water temp. sensor ..

let us know on your findings !!
